Vegan star Kevin Smith shares diet details with Men’s Health Magazine

Kevin Smith has shared the contents of his fridge, and his exercise regimen, in a recent video from popular fitness magazine Men’s Health — and it appears vegans don’t subsist entirely off of green juice and sad blocks of steamed tofu.

Go figure.

Included in the comedian, filmmaker and writer’s kitchen are a number of popular plant-based products, including Made Good bars and the massively successful Beyond Burger, which the star says he’s currently living on.

His fridge is also stocked with healthy, whole foods like roasted chickpeas and fresh produce, alongside a number of products recognizable to vegans and meat-eaters alike, such as margarine, mayonnaise, gravy and egg nog.

Okay, egg-ish nog. Again, the star’s fridge is entirely plant-based.

Smith’s diet has not always been free of animal products, however. The self-described “fat piece of” well… you know, switched to a plant-based diet after he suffered a heart attack in February of last year. Now, he reports a 51-pound weight loss and improved health as a result of his change in lifestyle and, as an added bonus, says it didn’t even make him hate his life.

Imagine that.
