IKEA to debut vegan strawberry soft serve
IKEA will be adding dairy-free strawberry soft serve to its growing list of vegan food options next month.
Officially dubbed soft ice, this frozen treat will take you back to the days of sticky fingers, scratched up knees, and fighting with your siblings over who gets to press the elevator button, in no time. If only buttons were that much fun now. When did things get so complicated?
there’s news.
According to the brand, the new soft ice was created in the name of sustainability, and to offer a dairy-free alternative to the brand’s conventional soft ice.
“In the past month we have been working closely with our supplier to find both the right taste and the prefect texture for this new soft ice,” said the commercial manager for IKEA Food Services AB, Sandra Lindh.
“It’s an easy, affordable and delicious treat for customers that either need or want to skip dairy products and prefer plant-based food options.”
While the April launch applies only to the brand’s European locations, IKEA has announced plans to not only create a wide range of vegan soft serves, but to take them global.
Good. That’s one less thing for us North Americans to get jealous about.
