Canadian animal advocate Kadie Karen has shared a vegan-themed song to Facebook that once you’ve heard it, will probably be with you forever.

One of a number of songs from this registered nurse turned schoolteacher; Brussel Sprouts and Broccoli [sic] is equal parts clever and cuteness. Together with Giorgio Benetti, Karen sings lyrics that’ll take you back to every vegan debate you’ve ever had, without making your blood boil.

“Plants don’t have nervous systems, but chickens, cows and pigs do,” they sing.

“So be nice to them, and I’ll be nice to you.”

The pair also encourages listeners to “skip that vegetarian phase”, over the joyful strumming of Karen’s blue ukulele. Straight to the point.

Don’t look at us. They said it.

All jokes aside, Karen was inspired to start creating vegan content as a means of outreach and activism, and hopes to reach as many people as she can through her music.
