Plant-based shake aims to bring nutrition to people over 50
Breakout brand Perennial has debuted a plant-based beverage designed for people aged over 50.
The shakes, according to the packaging, include “a satisfying blend of plant protein, vitamins and fiber” intended to foster good health in its target market.
Not a bad idea given that, with the rise of vegan junk food, we could probably all do with a bit of help in that area. Wait, we are all noshing on plant-based pizza and tossing back vegan brews like it’s the last day on Earth, right? Maybe not.
Regardless, Perennial features ingredients such as pea protein, shiitake mushroom powder and vitamin B12, all of which contribute to its high protein and vitamin content.
Cartons of the dairy-free beverage are sold in 12-packs, which retail for $34.99. Perennial is currently only shipping within the US, and is not serving Alaska or Hawaii at this time.
