Leonardo DiCaprio backs teen activist Greta Thunberg on Instagram
Environmentalist and superstar Leonardo DiCaprio has taken to Instagram to share a post in support of Nobel Prize-nominated teen activist Greta Thunberg.
Ait appears he is not.
“A crowd gathers to hear Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg address the ‘Fridays for Future’ demonstration for a better climate policy in front of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate on March 29, 2019,” read the caption of the repost from which included a picture of the gathered crowd.
“Since December last year, teenagers across Germany inspired by the 16-year-old Thunberg’s climate fight have been marching weekly instead of sitting in classes.”
All that, while millennials skipped school to eat junk food and do donuts in deserted parking lots, and baby boomers took a pass to drink malts and… dance on cars? Perhaps that was just in . Whatever. The point is that we’re long past the days of puppy-love obsessed Sandys and Dannys, and on times of teens who really care.
Greta, who is diagnosed with autism and ADHD, credits her devotion to the cause to her neurological difference.
“I see the world a bit different, from another perspective,” she told . “I have a special interest. It’s very common that people on the autism spectrum have a special interest.”
Greta has inspired teens the world over and risen to fame as one of world’s leading climate activists since her explosively popular speech at the UN Climate Change Conference in December. That day, she offered a warning she seems well on her way to delivering on.
“We have come here to let you know that change is coming, whether you like it or not,”
“The real power belongs to the people.”
