Lewis Hamilton says bulking up was easy on a vegan diet
Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton has taken to Instagram to celebrate the success of his weight gain on a vegan diet.
Apparently, this pro athlete was able to find more than grass and salad to munch on, as he says he’s up 15 pounds just a few years after making the change to an all-plant diet.
“Adding weight was easy and I did this on a vegan diet,” he wrote.
“People say ‘oh I need my protein and that’s why I could never go vegan’. I have plenty of protein in my diet and I’ve gained muscle, and I’m healthier and happier than I’ve ever been. Wish I did it sooner [sic].”
In addition to solving the age-old question of where vegans get their protein — the same place as herbivorous animals, obviously — Lewis has been vocal about the ethics of vegan living. He’s posted on various occasions about animal cruelty, encouraging fans to make the connection and leave four-legged friends off their plates.
He’s also meant to be pretty great at driving real fast, or whatever.
